Details
Sonobaria is a town bordering Kallaroa upazila. Signs of zamindar rule spread throughout Sonarbariya over 200 years ago. The holder of such an ancient heritage is the Sonabaria Math Temple. The Shamsundar Temple, a terracotta blade of about 3 feet high, still stands today as a symbol of ancient architecture. If this historic monastery is not renovated now, the remaining remains of its dilapidated temple will disappear. According to various sources, Rani Rashmoni founded this monastery in Bengal in 1228.
